my first post

jumping in with both feet

Here it is – my first post.  For something that will only be read by my family, friends & random Facebook lurkers I must say it’s quite nerve racking.  Might as well just get it over with, quick like a band-aid.

I know everyone’s first question will be, “Why are you starting a blog?”  It’s simple – I want to improve my website design skills while learning how to style & photograph food.  Combine that with my growing interest in cooking more than just salads and the decision becomes clear.  Although Yes  Dear / Chef was started with purely selfish intentions I’m hoping that it will benefit anyone who reads it.

You can expect both success & failure in the kitchen because at the end of the day, I’m not a chef.  I have a degree in Marketing not pasta making.  Heck – I barely understand how to use half the gadgets my boyfriend/chef has in his arsenal.  The exciting part?  We get to learn together.  I hope that my experiences (and tips from my chef) will help us all get a little more comfortable in the kitchen.
